Location: Louisville, KY
Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 6:00 AM-4:30 PM
Pay: $28.00-$30.00/hour, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire


Position Overview


Snelling Staffing is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent for a manufacturing company in the Louisville area. This is an excellent opportunity for a purchasing professional with manufacturing experience who understands materials, inventory, suppliers, and production demands.


In this role, you'll be responsible for purchasing materials, components, and services while helping ensure production has what it needs-when it's needed-at a competitive cost.


What You'll Do


Purchase raw materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations
Monitor inventory levels and production demand to maintain appropriate stock
Request, review, and compare supplier quotes and proposals
Create, review, and track purchase orders
Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier terms
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Work closely with Production, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Contracts teams
Review blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work when sourcing materials
Use MRP/ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other purchasing tools
Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
Support continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For


5-10 years of purchasing, estimating, or supply chain experience in manufacturing
Experience purchasing metals, raw materials, components, or manufacturing supplies
Strong understanding of inventory control and supply chain processes
Proven negotiation and supplier management skills
Experience with MRP/ERP systems
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical specifications preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organization and attention to detail
Experience purchasing metals
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
